HOKUM THAT CURES NOTHING: A Former Bay City Academy Employee Speaks Out

A comment left yesterday by a reader who apparently speaks from personal experience as a former employee of Steven Ingersoll's owned-and-operated Bay City Academy deserves your attention.

Miss Fortune has received reports for months indicating that Ingersoll, who couldn't run a whorehouse during the California Gold Rush, cut his costs by firing the Bay City Academy's legit cleaning crew and replacing them with members of Roy Bradley's family.

Feel free to add your comments to the dialogue!

  1. Some people are thinking that since running a house of ill repute is not legitimate in most areas, maybe Mr. Ingersoll could see it as his personal 'Gold Rush' only for the money it could generate? Afterall most people believe he has been financialy raping the taxpayers for years if not decades. Maybe he could use his IVL theory on both the 'ladies' and the clientele since his theory is also supposed to teach character?

  2. Parents get your kids out of that school. Any of the administrators that are there are just as crooked as Ingersoll. None of them should even be allowed to be in education. Support your local schools by taking your kids out and putting them in a public school where education is actually happening. Where there is transparency and crooks aren't running a school. Public schools need to be supported, stop this money flow to Ingersoll's pockets and his handpicked crooked crew. If the government isn't going to do anything about it, then you need to. Stop this farce and let these teachers get into a school system that will take care of them properly.

  3. I was the anon that wrote the comment. Thanks for shining a light on it. While Comer is now out, Admin is not going to change for the better bc of how close one particular person is to Steve, and Lynch refuses to listen to his teachers about her. The admin doesn't know curriculum like they should and dont even have admin degrees. Students run wild bc there are no consequences, esp in the middle school. Teachers are paid basically nothing, and spend so much of their own $ on basic supplies and curriculum things. We didn't have enough textbooks for all the students, when we had them. There is no support staff. It's horrible there. I was lucky I got out. So many Teachers want to leave, and are trying desperately to find other jobs, but a lot are not finding anything and wonder if it is bc they have BCA on their resume. Esp if they want to teach in BCPS. Or they taught there right out of college and don't have any other experience. Again, I was lucky I got out. At least if the school shut down, they would be eligible for unemployment, which is about as much as we made anyway.

    1. So Comer is out? Hadn't heard that.

    2. How could anyone possibly be close to Ingersoll? They must sense the shadiness, lack of ethics and integrity in each other, and then decide they could work together to accomplish a common end: money in each person's pocket.

  4. It's very recent. He was looking for other positions anyway the past few summers. The person that replaced him is internal, so nothing will really change.

    1. Makes you wonder if Comer wanted out for a long time, or he felt the school's days were numbered, even with new management, etc.

  5. Mr. Lynch refuses to see the truth...even after numerous teachest have blatantly stated the facts to his face. Or is he in on it too? All I have to say is actions speak louder than words and right now no one that has lived though this first hand sees any changes. There is one person that came over on the boat from GTA with Ingersoll that still remains. The others in position of leadership at BCA have been and will continue to be manipulated and disposed of leaving the "close" person at the top - after they have sucked the life and reputation out of them as they did with Comer and those that came before him. I don't think Lynch or this person wants to hire a reputable and educated individual for a leadership position because it would lead to exposing their shortcomings, ultimately jeapordizing their rank in the hierarchy of it all.
